DPA 4006ER
d:dicate 4006E omni microphone, active rear-exit cable.
- Ultra-compact recording mic for hanging applications
- Full-bodied sound with minimal visual impact
- Acoustic modification accessories
- Legendary recording reference capsule
When small, lightweight and hardly visible microphones for top-quality recordings are required, the active cable design and clean, transparent sound of our ultra-compact 4006E makes them the perfect choice. They are particularly popular as A-B stereo or decca tree pairs in concert halls where clean looks may not be compromised by quality recordings. The 4006E can be mounted, hung or concealed to create clean, transparent recordings. With the SM4000-C suspension mount, which is included in the package, the 4006E to be hung in its own integrated cable from the ceiling and create precise and repeatable positioning. It is ideal in theatres, operas and concert halls or places of worship and for film applications, both in the studio and on location. These mics are also popular for ambience miking on soundstages, in sports stadiums and other environments where ambient sound needs to be recorded.
An optional selection of acoustic modification accessories, including nose cone and interchangeable protection grids, allows the 4006E to be acoustically transformed into different microphone versions, making it the most multifaceted mic in your collection and a tremendous value. By simply changing a grid, it is possible to gain several unique frequency responses and directional characteristics from a single mic. Furthermore, these grids and elements will not produce any phase shift, noise or distortion that would otherwise be introduced by an electrical filter.
With a length of only 3.5cm, the low-key appearance of the 4006E goes well together with its modular nature, making it possible to quickly combine the capsule with another pre-amp or boom pole or choosing another capsule with the active cable. At any time and with no tools necessary it is possible to transform the basic 4006E microphone into a new configuration by combining it with another DPA microphone capsule or preamp.
